The Future Beneath Us

Exhibit design | map | graphic design

Few New Yorkers realize the city is in the midst of some of the largest underground engineering projects ever. This 2009 New York Transit Museum exhibition presented eight of these initiatives in two parts, at the Science, Industry, and Business Library on Madison Avenue and 34th Street and at Grand Central terminal. Angela developed a map, site-specific window graphics, and designed the installation for each space (in collaboration with Barbara Suhr), in addition to the accompanying print pieces.

This 34th Street window graphic was created with one-way digital adhesive mesh—art visible on the street but transparent inside the gallery.

The Madison Avenue and 34th Street windows of the exhibition were covered in one-way view digital adhesive mesh graphic that remained transparent inside the installation.
